SUSTAINABILITY. LIFE. COMMITMENT.

Our expertise is multiple: in the vineyard and in the practices of agro-ecology and pastoralism

Fontesteau, a vineyard between the ocean and the Gironde Estuary

North of Bordeaux, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde Estuary, the 20-hectare vineyard of the Haut-Médoc AOC benefits from a temperate atmosphere ideal for the good ripening of the grapes and indispensable for the balance and finesse of the wines. The soil allows the traditional grape varieties of the Médoc and in particular the Cabernet Sauvignon to fully express their qualities.

A one-block vineyard

On the villages of Saint-Sauveur and Cissac-Médoc, we cultivate 20 hectares of vines which benefit from favorable climatic conditions, protected from extreme conditions. Our 37 plots of vines are dedicated to the production of red Bordeaux grapes : Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Our Medoc terroirs are composed of gravel and sandy soils on clayey sub-layers, and limestone rocks in the sub-soil. This heterogeneous and complementary terroir allows an adaptation of the different grape varieties, which will develop characteristics conducive to the elaboration of wines with complex aromas.

The vines plunge their roots very deeply into the arid soil.

An outstanding oasis for wildlife and biodiversity.

In Fontesteau, we keep a long-term vision and are guided by the ambition to protect and enrich the land that welcomes us in the Haut-Médoc. The decisions we make on a daily basis are guided by the belief that we are working for something bigger than ourselves and that the value and results of our work will last beyond our own lifetime.

The team seeks to build a sustainable brand, centered around the protection of the exceptional site of biodiversity, that will endure well beyond a lifetime of work. Our Haut-Médoc wines are the product of generations of hard work and unique interpretations of the land, a know-how governed by values and principles carefully nurtured over time.
